60s Hen Party

60s Hen Party

Is the bride-to-be a hippie a heart? Host a 60s Hen Party theme that she is sure to love! Keep reading for some fab tips to make it a great party.

Decor

This theme would be more suitable outdoors but can also look great indoors. Think colour, flowers and lots of peace signs. The common colour theme for these parties include red, yellow, green and blue. Decorate with colourful balloons and flowers, real or fake. This should brighten up the area and really set the scene. Hand make some fun peace signs and flowers and hang them on walls or from trees. These can be easily made by cutting out the shapes, big and small, and colouring them in.

Dress Code

You can pick up some fun 60s themed costumes in your local costume store. You can also create your own by pulling those flared jeans out from the back of the wardrobe, rocking a headband and John Lennon glasses. For a more chic look, wear a 1960s inspired mini dress or skirt with a beehive hairstyle and winged liner. This look is still popular today so should be easy to recreate.

Food and drink

When it comes to food and drink, keep it colurful. Rainbow cake is a must! Choose brightly coloured food such as fruit and salads. These can also act as part of the decor. Lay out some canapes on a table for guests to help themselves. Include deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail and fondue. Yum! A punch bowl will be a great 1960s addition to the party. Try a vintage 7-Up punch with cranberry juice, apple juice, 7-Up and maybe a splash of vodka.

So create this groovy hen party theme for the bride-to-be. She is sure to love it!
