#FancyTrends: Summer To Autumn Transition Tips

It’s time to start changing our wardrobe ladies (as much as we don’t want to admit it!). Stay tuned to this weeks #FancyTrends: Summer To Autumn Transition Tips and find out how.

The days are getting colder and shorter and it’s time to face the truth ladies – summer is well and truly over! The dresses and sandals are disappearing from the shops and being replaced by coats and boots. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the sunshine. However, I am a huge fan of winter! Cosy evenings by the fire, an excuse for another cup of tea and of course the fashion. I am back with another fashion piece today, this time giving some tips of how to transition from a Summer wardrobe to an Autumn one. This time of year is difficult. It is getting colder but from time to time we see a bit of sun. So how in gods name are we supposed to dress every day?! Keep reading…

Below are some key pieces that you should have in your wardrobe around this time of year.

Jeans

You cannot go wrong with a pair of jeans during this time of year ladies. Especially a black pair like these fabulous Molly jeans from River Island. I love the Molly range! These jeans always fit me like a glove, never lose their shape and are very comfortable. This pair would be perfect to wear during the day, at work or with a pair of heels for a night out. This would perfect for a hen party look too ladies. Pair jeans with a dressy top, heels and leather jacket to rock that autumn style.

Boots

It’s time to invest in a decent pair of boots. I found this cool New Look pair from Asos that would suit the mixed weather we are having. These will keep your feet warm in the cold but will also work well with jeans that are cropped at the ankle or even a skirt for days that are a little warmer. These would be ideal for the day time hen party activity. No matter what the group are doing, you are sure to be comfortable and stylish.

Knitwear

Now onto my favourite part of this season – knitwear! Who doesn’t love popping on a comfy knitted jumper when it’s freezing outside? On my hunt for some new wollies, I found this gorgeous Pretty Little Thing Cream High Neck Jumper. This would be perfect to wear during the day to work or to curl up on the couch with a cuppa. The fab cream colour is also classy and smart enough to wear in the office with black jeans and pumps. A knitted jumper would be perfect for the day time hen party activity. On trend as well as cosy, you cannot go wrong!

Below are some helpful tips that should see you through this time of year.

Colours

Now is the time to start steering clear of the floral dresses and introduce some darker colours. Not everything needs to be dark and dreary however, you just have to mix it up. Some stunning autumn colours include deep green, red, purple, grey, white and of course black. You don’t have to be boring when it comes to winter fashion, just slowly begin to remove colours such as pink, yellow and baby blue from your wardrobe. Although, if you cannot part with your pink, use it subtly with accessories like bags or jewellery.

Layering

Layering is the perfect way to ease into this change of seasons. With layers you can stay warm on cold days and remove items of clothing on hotter days. For example, you can wear a light top or t-shirt under a cardigan that can be easily removed. Another great tip is to pop on a pair of tights with some shorts, a skirt or dress. This way you have the best of both worlds! Apart from the practicality factor, layering is a great look for autumn. We love woolly jumpers under a leather jacket paired with a scarf. Such an on trend look that will keep you nice and toasty.
