Classy Hen Party

By: kate

We often get asked to advise on what is a classy hen party. Many brides these days don’t want the traditional and tacky hen party. They want elegance, something unique, a hen party with a bit of class. There are many ways to achieve this and the level of class you go to depends on the hen herself.

One way to ensure a classy and unique hen party is the way you dress the bride to be up. Some brides don’t dress up at all. But where you do want to make some fuss, but ensure it’s tasteful, then why not ditch the tack and try a simple and disrete head[iece. Maybe a very small tiara, or a simple hen party rosette. Something very discrete, but just to make sure the bride stands out a little.

Another consideration when organising a classy hen party is the activity. Those organising a classy hen tend to steer away from cocktail classes and pole classes! Instead why not consider a garden party? Strawberries and pims at your hen party accommodation. If you aren’t sure about the weather, you can always ask the hotel for a small room for the afternoon. Or what about a make-up class? Or a style party? These are all popular hen party activities, but with a touch of class.

For dinner, why not try to find restaurants that offer cocktails as part of the menu. Having a pre-dinner cocktail is a lovely way to set a classy tone for the evening ahead. And at the restaurant, where the dressing up usually takes place, why not instead ask everyone to bring a small gift for the bride and let her unwrap them between courses. This is a lovely dinner time activity for a classy hen.
