Ladies, we all want glowing skin for the Hen Party right? We also want it to continue on to the wedding day too. With so many skincare products out there, it is difficult to know which one will truly work for you. At TheFancyHen.ie we are trying out the newest in beauty trends and giving you our honest review.
I recently tried and tested the new Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask. Charlotte Tilbury is the mastermind behind Charlotte’s Magic Cream which is a favourite amoung celebrities.
This particular mask promises to:
- Reduce wrinkles
- Smooth skin
- Brighten skin
- Lift face
- Hydrate skin.
Along with these claims apparently the benefits of this mask last up to 8 hours after you apply it. You can also use this one mask three times. Sold! I had to try it out for myself so I popped into Brown Thomas and headed straight to the Charlotte Tilbury counter. I picked up the single mask at €24. As you can reuse this mask three times it works out at €8 a go. This is pretty good value for a popular brand like Charlotte Tilbury. You can also pick up a packet of four for €86.
Warning: you will look like Jason from Friday the 13th. All in the name of beauty right?!
How To Use:
- Unfold the mask and place the pink side on cleansed skin
- There are four loops on the edge of the mask. All four wrap around your ears so that the mask stays in place. Very handy!
- Gently massage on top of the mask to activate the ingredients
- Leave on for 15 minutes
- Place the mask back in the resealable pouch for second and third use
My Thoughts:
Whether you believe the hype or not, after using this mask my skin did feel noticeably softer and more hydrated. In terms of reducing wrinkles, I believe this mask may need to be used more than three times to see any noticeable difference, just like most products. I don’t believe that a face mask can necessarily lift the face so don’t get too excited about that one. However, as a quick fix, this was great.
I have tried a few wet sheet masks recently and found, in my opinion, that they can be quite messy and leave too much product behind. This is not ideal when applying make up afterwards. What I love about this product is that it is a dry mask. After the fifteen minutes it left behind only a tiny bit of residue which was easily massaged into the skin. I thought that the mask would dry out too much on the second and third use but I was pleasantly surprised. The consistency stayed the same and it felt nice on the skin.
Another thing I loved about this mask is how easy it was to use. You simply pop it on and pop it off. I have found that other face masks tend to be quite messy and time consuming as you have to wash the product off afterwards.
Another plus here is the cost. €24, or €8 a go, I believe is a very reasonable price for such a good product. Considering that most wet sheet masks, with less active ingredients, cost around €5, we think this is a good deal.
Overall, I found this mask hydrating and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. I think this would be a great mask to use before applying make up for the Hen Party. The active ingredients will smooth your skin and help your foundation look more flawless. It would also be great to use the next day to rescue your skin after all the celebrations. Perfect!
