#FancyReviews: Autumn/Winter Skincare Must Haves

This time of year can be tough on our skin ladies. Stay tuned to this weeks #FancyReviews: Autumn/Winter Skincare Must Haves to make sure you glow at your upcoming Hen Party!

Summer is gone and we are officially into the colder months ladies. Like many others, I love this time of year. It means evenings sitting by the fire, big comfy layers and the festive season isn’t far off. However, the next few months can be a little harsh on our skin. With the weather getting colder, the summer possibly causing some harm and not to forget all the sugary treats and drinks we are bound to have with Halloween, Christmas, New Years and hen parties in the midst. With all these factors affecting our skin, we need some TLC. I have tried and tested the below products to make sure you look incredible when the hen party rolls around next year!

Clear Cell Salicylic Gel Cleanser

Winter is coming and our skin is starting to be affected. I personally have combination skin that is more oily than dry. However, in the colder months my skin can start to get really dry and flaky. Exfoliating is important all year around but especially this time of year. Now, if like me, you hang on every word Jennifer Rock from The Skin Nerd says, you will know that exfoliators with beads in them can be quite harsh on the skin. Therefore a product like the Image Clear Cell cleanser is a great option. It gently exfoliates the skin without any stripping. I normally use this product 2-3 times a week and my normal cleanser in between.

Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion

Hydrating your skin is so important during autumn and winter. Again, this weather makes my skin so dry. It feels really tight and uncomfortable and I hate it! A good moisturizer is key ladies. As my skin is combination, I want something quite hydrating but still not too heavy. This is where the Murad lotion comes in. I use a cream with SPF during the day but I love this one to put on after taking make up off and hitting the hay. My skin is nice and smooth in the morning, ready for another day battling the cold! You don’t want dry skin for the hen party do you ladies?!

Face Masks

L’oreal Clay Face Masks

Popping on a face mask once or twice a week can keep your skin looking healthy and glowy during this cold season. One range that I am loving recently is the L’Oreal Clay Mask collection. L’Oreal have a few different clay maks but the Detox Mask above is my favourite. The charcoal is supposed to draw out impurities and cleanse deep into the pores. You can use this all over the face or just in certain areas. I like to use it mainly on my T-Zone which is a problem area for me. When I wash it off, my skin is super smooth. Love it! Use this the week leading up to the hen party and you will be glowing!

Carmex SPF 15 Lip Balm

Carmex is my holy grail when it comes to lip balms. It is probably the most popular in the world also! It is a nice smooth balm that isn’t sticky and makes my dry lips feel hydrated the minute I put it on. This is very important to me during the cold season. There is nothing worse than dry and chapped lips ladies! I make sure to use the one with SPF 15 as we tend to forget about the lips sometimes. This is not good when you go to apply that red lippie for the hen party!

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

Ladies, we cannot forget about our hands. Especially during autumn and winter. Our hands do so much and along with our face they are the part of the body that isn’t covered up regularly. This can make them very dry and in some cases sore. I have often suffered from chilblains on my hands if I don’t look after them. If you have never had chilblains, count yourself lucky! It makes your hands red, sore and itchy if exposed to the cold too much. However, when that has happened in the past, the L’Occitane cream has worked wonders to ease it.

Where To Buy: Any L’Occitane stores or online

So the sunshine has disappeared. Well, the little bit we did have! So from now on our tan has to be from the bottle! One of my favourites is the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan. This tan gives a nice natural glow that you can build on depending on how dark you want to be. I recommend the Cocoa Brown Dark Tan for the hen party festivities by the way! This is also a great and quick tan to apply during all those Christmas and New Year parties you will be heading too.
