Nothing completes a hen party look quite like a slick of eye liner ladies. Whether you go for a sultry smokey eye or a chic cat eye, a hen is the perfect time to try it out! I have always thought that you need a liquid eyeliner to create the perfect smokey eye or cat eye. However, you don’t! Using a black kohl pencil you can create this look no problem. Recently when I got my make up done the make up artist created a fantastic smokey eye using the Charlotte Tilbury Bedroom Black pencil. She had it finished in no time and it looked great. Because I am easily swayed (when it comes to make up anyway) of course I had to buy it when she was finished. I also knew I wouldn’t get it right first time around so I practiced at home until I got it right (as right as I could anyway!). I now prefer using kohl pencils to liquid liners when creating a smokey eye or cat eye look. The application doesn’t have to be perfect straight away and you can blend it in to shape. With a liquid eyeliner I feel like you only have one chance to get it right…before you have to remove it all and start again. Painful! This pencil is really dark which is ideal for a sultry hen party look. It also glides on so smooth so you are not tugging on your eye to get it right.

If you do prefer using a gel eye liner, this one is fantastic! The Urban Decay pen liner is very easy to use and it glides on smoothly. As it is a pen you simply use it like a pen! This is great for beginners as you have complete control over the product. As only a small amount comes out of the pen you don’t have to worry about too much coming out. Applying this bit by bit is the best option. Start in the middle of the lash line and work your way to the outer corner. Then with the very tip of the pen work from the inner corner to meet the middle. I have used this one to create a cat eye or just a bit on my lash line to darken the look. It is great because you can create a look that is as subtle or dramatic as you please.

Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel
I have a love/hate relationship with the Inglot eyeliner gel. When done right this can look amazing! However, if you are not confident using this product it can be really tricky. Plus, it doesn’t budge! Which, again, is great if you have mastered using the gel. If you are not used to it, it can be hard to take off if you make a mistake. It dries in 60 seconds and is waterproof and smudge proof. So this stuff isn’t moving! The one thing I would recommend with this product is practice, and lots of it. Once you get the hang of this liner it is fantastic. It would be great for a hen party or wedding when you might be wearing make up all day and want it to stay in place. Through tears and all!
