Outdoor Hen Parties and Activities

Afternoon activities have become extremely popular when organising outdoor hen parties and activities. In fact we could say they are now an integral part of the event!

Now we know there’s a whole host of different activities for outdoor hen parties to choose from. But no doubt there are many of you seasoned hens out there that have been to enough cocktail making classes that you could have a masters in mixology! Or perhaps the charm of yet another afternoon tea is beginning to wear thin.

Well fear not ladies, if you are looking for an afternoon activity that’s unique and loads of fun, then we would highly recommend you consider an outdoor activity!

Ok, so perhaps some of you have taken a sharp intake of breath at the mere thought of outdoor hen parties and activities. But honestly they don’t all have to be high octane Adrenalin fueling activities. There are many other outdoor pursuits available to suit all tastes!

Here are a few of our favorites:

Boat Cruise:

For those of you who would like to experience the beauty of your surroundings why not opt for a cruise. Whether you are in a coastal location or an inland waterway, a leisurely cruise and a glass of champagne to toast the bride is a lovely way to enjoy the great outdoors without breaking a sweat! Perfect example of outdoor hen parties and activities. And a classy option for a hen.

Stylish Picnic:

How about a stroll along one of the many beaches or a walk in the countryside followed with a picnic for your outdoor hen parties? Forget the flasks of tea and tins of ham sandwiches- bring a bottle of the brides favourite tipple and get each guest to bring some posh snacks. You can have the perfect laid back afternoon that all the group can enjoy! Another ideal option for a stylish and unique hen.

Golf:

Normally the choice of activity for stag groups but if your group enjoys a round of golf then an afternoon on the green makes for a lovely relaxing activity. Round (pun intended!) off the afternoon with a well deserved G&T in the clubhouse and get in the party mood for the night ahead! Fota Island Resort in Cork have one of the best courses in Ireland.

Horse riding

This is a great outdoor hen party activity as it caters for all levels of ability. Don your jodhpurs and riding boots and trek through the local countryside enjoying the company of your closest friends and have a good old catch up and plenty of laughs. For those of you more experienced with horses why not try some jumps or a canter through the fields – tons of fun and great exercise for toning up those thighs!!

Hill walking/Trekking

OK, so a little more exertion is required here, but there are a number of companies offering guided hill walks and hikes for the complete novice to the more experienced hiker. It’s a great way for the group to bond and benefit from that feel good feeling that you get when you reach your destination!

This is an ideal activity if you know the bride to be is sporty and loves the great outdoors and most importantly you have the added bonus of burning serious calories- perfect if you feel like splurging later that night!!

So ladies if you love that outdoorsy feeling but don’t want the stress of hanging 50ft from a rock face (and worrying if you have helmet hair) then why not try one of these more relaxing outdoor activities.

They’re unique and sure to please everyone in your hen party group, especially the bride to be!
