Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy – Carnal – €32
After seeing the gorgeous Kendall Jenner wearing Carnal at the Met Gala, we had to try it for ourselves. Estee Lauder describe Carnal as a hydrating lipstick that glides on effortlessly and lasts up to 6 hours. I was excited to try this product and was looking forward to transforming into Miss Jenner herself….ya right! First off, this lipstick does glide on effortlessly. Two layers left me with a vibrant colour that I loved. I always recommend using a lip-liner with strong colours to ensure the look is neat and tidy. My lips did feel hydrated while I wore this product. It felt like I was wearing a lip balm rather than a lipstick which I loved! However, it did not last up to 6 hours as stated in the description. After approximately two hours I had to tidy up the colour just a bit. It left a slight stain on my lips that helped to keep the colour going but I added one quick layer just to make it look more precise again.
Tom Ford Spanish Pink – €48
Tom Ford was an obvious choice when looking for a subtle pink lipstick to try. I was looking for a girly lip colour that was girly but wasn’t too pink. After sampling a few, I liked Spanish Pink so decided to pick it up. This product is described as a moisturising lipstick that glides on easily and delivers pure colour. I must say I really liked this colour ladies. When applied it came out as a very light peachy colour with a little hint of sparkle. Don’t worry though, the sparkle is very slight! As I am quite pale I was worried that this would wash me out even more. Luckily it didn’t. It would be perfect for a Summer hen party paired with natural make up and a Summer dress. Perfect!
MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour Carnivorous – €22
For something different I decided to try out the MAC matte liquid lipstick. I was intrigued when I heard that this lipstick can last up to eight hours. Skeptical but intrigued…The application of this product was smooth and easy. Again, I would recommend using a lip liner first to keep it nice and tidy. The initial colour is very vibrant and definitely eye catching. In a good way! After a few minutes the lipstick dried matte and the colour became even more dramatic. It looked quite nice against my pale skin and resembled an old school glamour look. However, it did not last the eight hours as stated above. I don’t think any lipstick does…After about an hour and a half I had to tidy it up. Just like Estee Lauder Carnal, Carnivorous left a slight stain on my lips which helped to keep some bit of colour. This would be ideal for a fancy hen party where the group were attending a vintage tea party or opting for a vintage theme.
