Top 3 Foundations For A Bride-To-Be

Ladies, we all want that perfect foundation for the hen party or wedding. We want something that suits our skin, is full coverage and doesn’t budge. If you feel like you have tried and tested so many with no luck, I feel your pain. Having combination but mainly oily skin, I have found it difficult to find a foundation that doesn’t make my skin even more oily. I was always on the hunt for a foundation that was long lasting and would require only little touch ups during the day/night. However, I have come across some gems that are sure to make this search a bit easier. Below are three foundations that I guarantee will help you look like a million dollars well into the night. Keep reading to see my top 3 foundations for a bride-to-be.

Estee Lauder

My all time favourite foundation has to be the Estee Lauder Double Wear. On my quest for the perfect foundation I had watched a video by Anna Saccone where she talked about how much she loved it. As Anna has combination skin like myself I decided to try it out. This foundation suited my oily skin well as the application was slightly matte without being too drying. This foundation would suit most skin types as it is neither too ‘dewy’ nor ‘matte’. It is also full coverage so is perfect to keep you looking fresh during all the festivities at the hen party or wedding. The best thing about this foundation is how long it stays put. With primer underneath it really does last up to 10 hours!

Nars Sheer Glow

Ladies, you have already heard raving reviews about this Nars foundation I am sure. So is it really worth it? I can confirm it absolutely is! This lightweight foundation gives a nice bit of coverage without being too heavy on the skin. It doesn’t give you complete coverage but personally, I prefer this. It would be perfect for a day time look during the hen party or the day after the wedding. Just like the Estee Lauder foundation, this is a liquid formula. However, I have found that Nars takes a little longer to set on the skin than Estee Lauder. Aside from this, the finish is beautiful. It leaves your skin glowing and evens out the skin tone. The only downside to this foundation is that I have to touch up with powder more often than I would with the Estee Lauder. However, if you have dry skin you should be fine.

YSL Touche Eclat

The YSL Touche Eclat is described as a weightless foundation that lasts up to 8 hours. The texture is slightly more creamy than the other two foundations which I loved and the application was easy and smooth. The coverage of this foundation is light to medium which I really liked. I didn’t look caked in make-up and it didn’t feel heavy. I actually got two compliments on this foundation within an hour of the application. Delighted! The finish is quite ‘dewy’, which looked great initially. After a few hours however, this did not suit my skin. My skin became more and more shiny and I had to top up my powder regularly. Even though this didn’t suit my skin type, I think it would suit dry to combination skin better. It initially went on really nicely and the only downside was that it didn’t stay put on my oily skin.
